Very large 19th century Chinese or Sino-Tibetan bronze bowl/jardiniere, c1880.
This is a fine quality example, well cast and heavy at 7.3kg. In octagonal form it is beautifully decorated with eight panels surrounding the main body of the bowl. Each panel depicts a dragon/mythical creature in stylised form with foliage. The rim is also highly decorated, and the bowl stands proudly on four large figural supports again depicting the head of a dragon/mythical creature. The bowl has taken on good colour/patina following years of use.
Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear/marks/rubbing consistent with age and use.
