Large and unusually carved wood African Yoruba tribal statue, c1910.
This is a heavy and impressive piece depicting a central female figure holding 2 large snakes with 2 smaller female figures at her feet. Most probably a fertility statue it is beautifully carved in relief.
This is a highly decorative and impressive tribal piece which would display well in a traditional or modern setting. It has aged well with great patina.
Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear in line with age and use.
