A lovely early 19th Century Georgian butchers' block, c1800. This is in a nice light colour, with lovely patina, and has aged beautifully - with great undulation and marking from nearly 200 years of chopping and cutting.
The top block detaches from the base, which stands on shapely bulbous legs. It has its original metal edging straps.
Overall condition is good, with minor cracking/gapping around the edges and lots of surface marking from use - exactly as you would expect. There are historical woodworm holes, long dormant but treated anyway as a precaution, and mostly on the underside of the chopping block.
