An early antique large boars head skull (upper skull section, no lower jaw), pre-1800. The piece was a display item from a local museum (Iceni near Swaffham, Norfolk, United Kingdom), which closed and auctioned some of its exhibits.

It was described as an early example that had been buried for ritualistic purposes. We find it difficult to age, but it is certainly pre-1800 and is probably medieval or earlier.

It is in good original condition, complete apart from just a few teeth missing - all very much as you would expect from something over 300 years old. It has a great look. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions or if you would like to view the item.

Size: 22 cm tall x 20 cm wide x 37 cm long.
